Mt. Pleasant
What was once a quaint little village where everyone knew each other has grown to be a thriving community within the last 15 years. Now the 6th largest city in the State, this town was recently named one of the most desirable places to live. More than 56,000 people call this town home and with a new 8 lane bridge spanning the Cooper River connecting Mt. Pleasant to downtown Charleston, it doesn’t look like the growth spurt will stop any time soon. Couple that with one of the best school systems in the county and it’s easy to see why growing families, baby boomers and retirees find Mt. Pleasant to be a special place to live.
Mt. Pleasant is a community rich with history and with culture. The historic district called the Old Village boasts grand homes that rival those found in downtown Charleston. Patriots Point Maritime and Naval Museum, home of the USS Yorktown, provides for a day full of seafaring history. Shem Creek is home to a fleet of local fishing & shrimp boats, deep sea fishing boats to charter as well as award winning restaurants. The newly built Town Center offers an array of shops and restaurants – it’s easy to spend an entire day strolling from one store to another.
